 Sulen finds Jedao's last observation persuasive. They look at Gerae and Virmad, then, eyes completely bronze, ask Jedao, "Do you have ill intentions towards anyone on this ship?" Jedao answers, "Not unless you try to kill me. Which you could have, and haven't." Ione senses that Jedao wants to redeem himself, or to make up for some future action. Ione nods at the Rahal. Sulen tells Seyli, "Then I do not object to allowing him use of his hands. But not free roam of the ship." "I will not abuse your trust," Jedao says. He tells Seyli, "I spoke discourteously to you before. You have my apology." The restraints allow him to bow slightly. Seyli moves close to Jedao and says, very quietly, "I do not trust you. I will never trust you, even if my colleagues seem eager to do so." They release the restraints around his wrists and step back, saying more loudly, "Thank you for the apology." Sasha thanks Seyli, via the grid. Jedao rubs his gloved wrists, with exaggerated care. Reshad thanks Seyli, aloud; on the team channel, she says, "I want to know about the winnowers, when we finish here." Without looking at Reshad, Jedao signs, "My life is in your hands."

An administrator with the background to check up on the programs and how they're progressing without getting hoodwinked by the unscrupulous, but maybe not an active researcher or scientist themselves."
