Slime mold

An ambulatory slime mold lives on spacecraft and space stations. It often appears in filters on Station Moongray, and has also been found on the station's hull. Some people keep slime molds as pets. Station Moongray also has an active slime-mold-racing community; enthusiastic participants have bred better slime molds and identified performance-enhancing drugs.

Mold can be removed using a cleanser colloquially known as "splutter". The cleanser works both in atmosphere and (with appropriate precautions to deal with resulting ice) in near-vacuum conditions.
