Istradez, Mikodez

Mikodez investigates Remi's lab, to the sound of the Clowder Purring game on one of the lab computers. A man in a Nirai uniform with a toolbox is sleeping in the lab space, snoring; the single surveillance camera appears to be broken. Mikodez finds diaries, apparently written by a child, with dates that are not in the high calendar; he places them in a box for retrieval. He hacks the Clowder Purring game to display cats with colors impossible to acquire in game. Before leaving the lab, he switches the mothling egg with a fake egg that he has printed.

Around 20:25, Istradez finds Mikodez in one of the station's corridors. Mikodez chooses a location away from station surveillance cameras, shoves the box containing the mothling egg at Istradez, and attempts to fire the gun he has matter-printed. However, the gun is not loaded. Istradez twists Mikodez' wrist, causing him to drop the gun, and exclaims, "The hell, Miki! Did you go off and eat an entire platter of cookies or something?" He then captures Mikodez in an armlock. Mikodez attempts ineffectually to stab Istradez with his felting needles, while saying, "So much time around me and you still can't act like anybody I actually know."

Istradez: "Stop it," he hisses, "I didn't realize your animosity toward me went back quite that many years." egg starts to hatch
